In response to India’s nuclear efforts, Pakistan has developed 10-15 “Islamic” nuclear bombs. The Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan accelerated Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program. They exploded six devices in May of 1998, in response to new testing by India. Pakistan has not signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
